Lately, I love playing with liquify to see the effect it have on a picture. Quite amusing. Hehe.

I edited this photo of mine. Again, I think my photos are the best guinea pig as i have all the skin problems to be mended. I use liquify on this piece, play with colours and yes, those lashes are quite overdone!!

Bengkel Wedding Photography Professional by Ahmad Fairus (MyPhotographer)

Last Sunday I'd join a workshop by Ahmad Fairus of MyPhotographer. Ahmad Fairus is one of the member of ClickCouture, a group of talented professional wedding photographers based in Malaysia with thousands of shooting hours under their belt, putting these photographers a class above the rest.

The workshop is designed for photographers who want to learn how to be a professional wedding photographer. A lot of tips and tricks is shared and for me it was a very valuable workshop to attend.

I learned a lot and have fun the whole day. The couple model were also fun and sporting and the participant is really cooperative. Here are some shots takne by me during the workshop.

There are also some prizes given throughout the workshop. A few photos had been selected for best photo, and I had won 2!! The fact that Im the only contestant to won two make me so happy and a bit proud. Hehehehe.

I now have more confident to take wedding photos. Any takers? hehehe.

Editing potrait - removing eyebag

I bought a book titled Skin by Lee Varis. A very2 interesting book on portraiture, from shooting photos to enhancing it.

Recently, I'd join a bunch of kewl photographers to a landscape mission to Cherating. I was accompanied by my best friend, Leen, who later had been our model. Ah, what are photographers without utilizing chances to practices their skills!! Though it was a landscape mission, a portraiture mission is also accomplished!! LOL.

I'll talk about Cherating later. I want to share a sample of photo edited by me using Photoshop CS3, and guidance found in the book.

Making my portrait looks better

I love playing with Photoshop CS3, and mostly experimenting on how to make a portrait look much better. I do believe in improvising the photography technique itself to get the best photo, but sometimes digital enhancement do help in making the best photo looks better.

I have quite a bad skin. Uneven skin tone, large pores, oily skin, double chin etcetera. So, I use my own photo to experiment. This photo is taken by Reza Ali. All editing in done by me. I'm still finding ways to eliminate the oily skin, any suggestion?

A lesson learnt

Some people ask me, about the quality of Zana's wedding pictures. It's not that sharp and it's noisy.

Well, Zana's wedding pictures is a lesson for me to learn. Her reception is on Saturday. I reach home around 5.30pm, and was sitting in the kitchen with my parents chit chatting when my younger brother accidentally formatted my memory card while playing around with my camera. I'd lost all the pictures and had to use a software to recover the pictures. And don't expect 100% recovery, you may lose some pictures (in my case, I lose around 20) and the quality is reduced to 70-90%, depending on your luck I guess. And that's why Zana's wedding picture is a bit disastrous. Next time, I'll immediately transferred all my pictures, despite how tired I am, to the laptop/pc after any events.

The day after Zana's wedding, I'd attend a workshop specially designed for lady photographers to capture kids. I was one of the facilitators, assisting Adhadi and Zubye, and the workshop was a success. We got many good feedback from the participants, and many requested for the workshop to be done more frequently.

At that time I still haven't recovered my memory card (duhh!!) and again, my bad, I don't have a spare. Luckily Adhadi lend me his shop's memory card, which I had to return immediately after the workshop. And it took me almost three weeks to get all my pictures from the memory card *sigh*. Anyway, thanks to Adhadi and his loyal helper Faiz for helping me out with the replacement card and the photos.

Ah, it is indeed a lot of lesson learnt. But for now, lets enjoy a few of pics taken by me during the workshop.

Zana & Kash - The Wedding

It's been almost three weeks since their wedding day. Hopefully it's not too late to show some of the photos taken during both solemnization and reception. Oh, the solemnization is held after Asar on 20th March at a mosque in Selayang (pardon me, I've forgotten the name of the mosque) and the reception is held the day after at Kelab Golf PDRM, Titiwangsa.

Playing with lights and some enhancement

I was having fun with friends last weekend at a river stream somewhere in Taiping, when i saw the lights coming through the trees. It make a backlit for me. The time was 11ish am but the light was quite soft. Decided to take a shot and the result is yummy rimlight on the models body. I do a little enhancement with Photoshop CS3 Extended and the result, voila!!
